Adhesive for tiles RF 5

Cement-based RF 5 adhesive for gluing ceramic tiles. PRODUCT CLASSIFICATION RF 5 is classified as C1E according to EN 12004, basic cement C, No.1 adhesive with normal adhesive strength, E – extended workability. CHARACTERISTICS – For indoor and outdoor use. – Good workability. – For ceramic fixation on cement-based surfaces. – For ceramic fixation on plaster surfaces after treatment with PRIMER. FIELD OF USE RF 5 is used for placing ceramic tiles, small-sized tiles on different surfaces such as: concrete, cement and plaster-based floors. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use in residential areas. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Surface preparation Traditional cement-based supports must have a sufficient maturation time of (28 days at a temperature of 23°C and U.R. 40%). The supports must be flat, stable and in function of the intended use. The support where the product will be placed must be clean, without external materials, such as: paints, oils, varnishes, non-stick materials. Cleaning is done mechanically or manually. Before applying the product, plasters must have a maturation time of at least 1 week per 1 cm of thickness. The supports must be mechanically stable, in function of the intended use. The surface of the support where the product will be placed must be clean of any type of foreign material. APPLICATION For a better application of the product and for a good and uniform extension of it over the entire surface, it is recommended to first place the product on the support through the straight blade of the trowel and then through its serrated part. The product must be applied with a suitable trowel, depending on the type and parameters of the slab. It is recommended RF 5 that after laying the tile, apply pressure so that the back of the tile is completely saturated with adhesive. Special conditions, such as: high temperatures or strong winds, sun or substrates with a high water absorption, negatively affect the performance of the product and can even significantly reduce the time of spreading and correction. To avoid these problems, it is recommended to spray the support with water before applying the product or treat it with RF PRIMER primer. However, in any case, it is important to check whether the adhesive has formed a "skin" before laying the tiles. In such cases, you need to redistribute the adhesive in order to reactivate its adhesive strength. You should avoid pouring water on adhesive that has formed a skin (hardened) because in such a case an anti-adhesion layer is created. In the case of outdoor cladding and flooring, especially in cases where the back of the tile is embossed, it is recommended that the adhesive is spread over the tile packaging and also onto the support to avoid build-up. of cavities where water can seep in, or moisture can build up, which can cause tiles to detach or break.
